____________________________________ International AAC Awareness Month October 2021 How are you celebrating?   The ISAAC LEAD Committee is pleased to announce the theme for AAC Awareness Month 2021: "Get Out, Speak Up and Break through the Screen in a Recovering World."   The current pandemic fueled by COVID-19 has created a greater reliance on technology for everyone, and it brought on new ways to work. Communicating with the assistance of technology for many social interactions has changed the way people value alternative forms of communication. Using a combination of video, text chat, and audio voice calls simultaneously in one conversation has become commonplace in today's society. Quickly making accommodations for people's available mode of communication often occurs without much interruption of the conversation. Many people now use apps and non-spontaneous communication to interact with businesses for basic daily tasks such as ordering food and shopping for goods.         During the month of October, as the world continues to reopen and recover from the fatigue of relying on technology to interact in the hopes of getting back to a level of "normal,” we encourage the AAC community to get out, speak up and break through the screen that shields people who use AAC from fully participating in their community. ISAAC 리드 위원회는 2021년 AAC 인식의 달 주제인 "회복중인 세계에서 밖으로 나가, 말하고, 화면을 뚫고 나아가자"를 발표하게 되어 기쁩니다.

COVID-19에 의해 촉발된 현재의 대유행은 모든 사람들에게 기술에 대한 의존도를 높였고, 새로운 작업방식을 가져왔습니다. 많은 사회적 상호작용을 위해 기술의 도움으로 의사소통하는 것은 사람들이 대안적인 형태의 의사소통을 평가하는 방식을 변화시켰습니다. 영상, 문자 채팅, 음성 통화의 조합을 한 가지 대화에서 동시에 사용하는 것은 현대 사회에서 흔한 일이 되었습니다. 의사소통 방식을 신속하게 조정하는 것은 대화를 크게 방해하지 않고도 종종 일어납니다. 

이제 많은 사람들이 음식 주문, 상품 쇼핑과 같은 기본적인 일상 업무를 위해 앱과 비자발적 의사소통 방법을 사용하여 상호작용 합니다. 

10월 한 달 동안, 세계가 "정상적인" 수준으로 돌아가기를 바라며 기술에 의존하는 피로를 재개하고 회복함에 따라, 우리는 AAC를 사용하는 사람들이 커뮤니티에 참여하는 것을 막는 화면을 벗어나,    목소리를 높이고, 뚫고 나아갈 것을 권장합니다. 새로운 "정상"을 만들기 시작하면서, 친구 또는 동료들과 다시 연결되고 관계를 계속 구축해야 합니다
